1. How long have you been on DeviantArt?
ELEVEN years. I was 15 when I joined. I forget how I even found out about it in the first place. I think one of my artist friends in middle school told me about it, and I'd been to the site before, but hadn't signed up until June 2004
2. What does your username mean?
Broken Endings was the title of a fantasy trilogy series I started creating when I was 13 in 2002. I was actually steadily developing it up through 2011, still keeping the name, and having written a chunk of the story for a novel writing class in college. I was still planning on one day finishing it even at that time. BUT i think that story might be dead in the water for the first time since I invented it. Here's some sketches I did that were related to that now defunct writing project. I'd actually edited both of these characters out of the story in my last revision, but lost momentum in redoing everything without them.
3.Describe yourself in three words.
stubborn as hell
4. Are you left or right handed?
right handed
5. What was your first deviation?
posted June 8, 2004
(made in corel painter. i'm still using the same wacom tablet as I used for this)
6. What is your favourite type of art to create?
comic book type, crisp action scenes or poster-like art, illustration
7. If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?
digital art. still in all these years i haven't used my tablet consistently enough to be able to call myself proficient in it, especially in comparison to traditional art.
8. What was your first favourite?
it's actually not in my favorites anymore, but this is the oldest favorite I remember having. I actually went to the internet archive of my deviantart page from 2004 to get the link cuz otherwise i wouldn't have been able to find it.
9. What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?
Fan art. I love fan art and what it celebrates, and inspires, and creates a whole world outside the original material that's entirely invented by fans.
10. Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?
currently?
every piece of art is inspiring
11. If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?
definitely
just to talk about attack on titan
12. How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?
inspired me to want to try to fill a sketchbook with 2-page ink drawings on every page, and taught me that 1) there is no "right way" to make any kind of art, and 2) being extremely talented doesn't guarantee recognition
13. What are your preferred tools to create art?
plain old paper and pencil with a good eraser and ink pens of varying thickness
14. What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?
Not so much a location as a time of day. somehow inspirational juices just flow more when it's pitch black outside. If I had to pick a place then I'd say at a park with a lake. Some place with lots of nature and picnic tables
15. What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?
Back in 2012 I was submitting loads of Hunger Games art, but also taking requests from people for Hunger Games art. It was really great, being inspired to create by another person's idea, and finished art that I never would have created if not for their requests
